Nicole Dutton

I was born and raised in southern Illinois. I attended Greenville University where I received a BA in Psychology and later graduated with my MFA from Fontbonne University in St. Louis with a specialty in painting. I have a deep appreciation for the arts and have fallen in love specifically with encaustic painting. I love using a torch and enjoy the process of fusing and building up layers. I try to find a balance between control over and relinquishment of the medium, letting it be its fluid self and surprising me with interesting moments in the paint. Ultimately, my hope is that others enjoy the artwork as much as I enjoy the process of making it.
